Photograph of General Allenby, Commander-in-Chief, taken on the morning of the 20th of Sept. 1918, the day of the recovery of all Palestine.
Rusti Pasha, Prime Minister to Sultan of Egypt, the daughter of the Honorable Hampson Gary,
the American Diplomatic agent to Cairo,
and Colonel John Finley, the new Red Cross Commander to Palestine.
It was taken at General Headquarters on a snapshot by Mr. Gary,
but has an historic interest because of the events of the day on which it was taken.
General Allenby has requested the British War Office
to ask America to send him two additional Red Cross Units, of about one hundred each,
to Palestine, to carry forward the relief and construction work begun by the first Unit
of which Colonel Finley was Commander

One of the most interesting and important figures in the rehabilitation of Palestine
is Colonel Ronald Storrs, the military Governor of Jersusalem.
He has the background of ancestry, of training and of experience
and the rare idealisms as well as practical wisdom to represent civilization
in the trusteeship committed to him.
He is the son of Dean Storrs of Rochester Cathedral, was Secretary to Lord Hitchener in Egypt.
He has won the admiration of the American Red Cross unit in Palestine,
who have cooperated in all possible ways in the improvement of conditions of life in the Holy City
