Members of Chinese Labour Corps leaving Tsingtau for France 1918
Thousands of Chinese coolies were recruited to go to France for the reconstruction of Europe.
Initial training was conducted in Canada.
Then they traveled to Jamaica via Panama Canal, a stop over in New York City and then on to France.
